Job Title: Research Analyst

General Summary:

Work directly within Corporate Development Research and the larger Growth and Business Development Team to research and analyze site opportunities and strategic analysis. Position will be based in Whole Foods Market Global offices in Austin, TX. Travel will be 30%-50%.

Will Do:

· Site location analysis, including field work, written report and verbal presentation.

· Strategic, multi-site analysis including comparative profiles designed to optimize markets.

· Analysis and interpretation of customer origin analysis.

· Analysis and interpretation of demographic data.

· Pre-analysis/screening of prospective sites.

· Be part of the continuing development of improved research methodologies.

· Interface with regional and national marketing team members.

· Interface with upper level regional and national leadership.

· Performs other related duties and special assignments as needed.

Must Have:

· Have a minimum of 5 years of successful grocery store location analysis with an excellent track record.

· Minimum of Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

· Have strong executive level communication skills, both written and verbal.

· Have experience with conceptualization and planning of retail grocery strategies.

· Have fluent statistical skills.

· Have strong analytical skills.

· Have strong general computer skills.

· Have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office components.

· Have strong working knowledge GIS/mapping software (Mapinfo or similar).

· Have strong working knowledge of gravity modeling.

· Have experience driving market areas and analyzing competition.

· Be a self motivated, hard working and detail oriented team player.

· Be able to interpret and present data on a micro and macro level.

· Thrive in a stimulating and challenging work environment.

· Have the ability to learn new approaches and improve them.

· Have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

· Ability to not disclose confidential information.
